Seated figure with arm resting on the knee, a pensive pose in warm skin tones and blue linework. The head is slightly bowed, the gaze downward, while a deep red line marks the edge of a shawl or wrap over the shoulder. The blue pencil line circles the whole pose like a loose, quickly drawn frame, with places where the line repeats the shape several times. It is a restrained, inward-turned study, without the bright colour contrasts of much other work in the same series.
