Model, monochrome reclining
Reclining figure, kept almost entirely in cream and broken white, with only a small, colourful face at right in warm brown, green and burgundy touches anchoring the composition. A thin green line connects this detail to the rest of the body. The extreme restraint of the composition, with so much paper left white, gives the whole an airy, almost hushed quality — the title 'monochrome' points precisely to this sparseness of colour.
