Model, red chalk lines
Seated figure, the body and limbs set down with firm black lines like a stick-figure contour. The torso is densely surrounded by bright red chalk lines fanning outward in a web of crossing strokes, while the face and torso themselves are painted in warm cream and ochre tones. The intensity of the red chalk framing gives the figure a tense, almost enclosed presence, as if caught in a cage of lines.
