Two models, maroon overlap
Two overlapping reclining figures, merged into a dense mass of deep red, burgundy and olive green. The contours of the two bodies are barely distinguishable from one another, with ochre and white planes suggesting the shape of arms and legs. The intense, saturated colours and the compact composition give the sheet a dramatic, almost entangled intensity.
