A circulade in the French Hérault, with the characteristic light of the Languedoc. In this canvas a bright, almost acidic yellow-green dominates, cut through by a thin red line running through the composition like a path or a wall's edge. The shape of the village is only just recognisable — here the circulade is above all a pretext for colour, light and the texture of the paint itself. At upper right a small blue accent appears, like a glimpse of sky between the rooftops.
