Woude 10, one of the numbered studies of the island where Henk van Dam lives. A red roof and a small yellow tower rise above a dense cluster of buildings and trees, with a pale wooden cart or jetty. The colours are fuller and warmer than in much of the other island work — ochre yellow, deep red, a touch of orange. The canvas belongs to a series of numbered studies in which Henk van Dam captures a different corner of De Woude each time.
