An impression in gouache, part of the series of travel impressions. A row of small houses with pointed roofs in ochre, red and orange stands at the edge of a broad, pale blue stretch of water, with dense green shrubbery as a backdrop. The architecture is summarised in a few quick lines, without going into detail. It is a typical example of how Henk van Dam works while travelling: a village or hamlet passing by, reduced within a few minutes to a composition of coloured marks.
