Rodeo
Rodeo, an impression of movement and action in watercolour. A group of riders in brightly coloured hats — yellow, orange, red — presses together on the sheet, the horses only just recognisable in the quick, overlapping lines. Colour is used sparingly and pointedly: a red sleeve here, a blue trouser leg there, against an otherwise restrained, watery ground. The pace of the drawing itself seems to mimic the energy of the event.
