Driehuizen
Driehuizen, a pencil study of a familiar spot. Three pointed roofs stand side by side, with a small chimney above the left-hand house, while in front a dense border of reeds or tall grass is filled in with short, upward strokes. A fence or path cuts through the composition on the right. The drawing is built up with visible repetition — lines gone over several times — which gives the place a certain solidity, even though the execution stays sketch-like.
